La première édition très rare est de 1688. C'est le premier traité consacré à ces instruments, et le premier à donner les règles de la graduation des thermomètres. Les expériences sur le vide venaient d'avoir lieu, c'est pourquoi il unit dans son traité les hygromètres et les thermomètres. ¶ Sotheran I. n°929 "The earliest account dealing exclusively with the subject, and especially valuable as the first work laying down rules for the graduation of the thermometer." - DSB p.
